About music therapy

Music therapy is a discipline in which credentialed professionals (MTA) use music purposefully within therapeutic relationships to support development, health, and well-being. Music therapists use music safely and ethically to address human needs within cognitive, communicative, emotional, musical, physical, social, and spiritual domains.

About me

I have been living and working Toronto as a music therapist since 2017.

My experience includes:

• working in long-term care with older and elderly adults with complex needs such as dementia, stroke, developmental delays, and other health complications

• working in complex continuing care with adults (ages 19+) with various long-term health needs such as MS, stroke, acquired brain injuries, ALS, acquired paralysis, and other diagnoses

• practicum and volunteer work with children and youth with developmental delays and physical disabilities in schools and community support systems

My certifications include:

• bachelor of music therapy degree (Acadia University)

• Music Therapist Accredited

• Board-certified Music Therapist

• Neurologic Music Therapist
